Roof Problems…We’re all Over it!
Lichen on roof tiles - this can cause deterioration of the tiles.
Note the cut tiles which have fallen out of their place into the valley gutter (metal chanel in centre of photo). This needs to be rectified to avoid leakage. Also in a heavy downpour this may obstruct waterflow, especially if sticks and leave also build up here.
Inside a roof cavity. Looking at the rafters, ceiling joists and valley board - note the darker areas which indicate that the valley gutter has leaked into the roof cavity. It is important to ensure that valley gutters on a roof are kept clean.
